Hello Artisans and internet, ComiCon is coming to a close in San Diego (err has closed) but this doesn't mean that we can't come together and have some comic-themed fun. This year is something we hope you will all enjoy. And by all we mean all; 3D Character Artists, Concept Artists, and for the first time, Vehicle/Prop Artists and ANIMATORS!

Let's get started with the brief! This year's theme for 3D Character Artists and 2D Concept Artists is "Alternate Universe." You can either change the time period of your comic book hero or his/her gender. For instance you can make a 1842 Western styled Captain America (cowboy) OR a female Captain America OR you can do both - an 1842 western-styled (cowboy/girl) female Captain America. If you decide to mix and match, it's your choice!

For vehicle/props artists, you are to create a vehicle for a comic book character. This vehicle should be from a time period that is different from the vehicle's original period. Example - what would The Sandman, the murderous Venom or Catwoman of the distant future drive? Or what would a medieval Batman drive, or ride for that matter. It's all up to you! Changing the vehicles gender is optional (make a woman version Bat Mobile).

Animators, your mission is to make a super cool hero/villain attack sequence. Basically, create an attack sequence worthy of a super hero or villain!

Be creative, and have some fun, and remember.... this is a community event made by artists for artist. We have no funding for running or maintaining this challenge. It's done because it's cool and it deserves to be done! Good luck to everyone.
